The Forgotten War

Donate Now

I decided I wanted to do something different for my 21st birthday this year. The conflict in Yemen has been very dear to my heart these past few years, it is devastating to watch your home, my mothers home, my grandparents home, becoming destroyed everyday. Yemen is the largest humanitarian crisis in the world but has been an extremely underrepored crisis. Yemen has experienced 8 years of nonstop violence & suffering. 24 million Yemenis are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance. To put this in perspective, Yemen's population is roughly 28 million, meaning almost 80% of the country needs urgent aid. 3 million people displaces, the countries economy & healthcare system are completely destroyed;less than half of hospitals remain standing. There have been reports of more than 1 million cholera cases- the worst outbreak in human history. Now imagine all of this with a global pandemic going on. Our ignorance is supporting this genocide. The people of Yemen need our help.

- Only 55% of girls 15 and older are literate

- 29% of children are out of school, with up to 75% of schools destroyed

- 55 out of 1000 children die before their 5th birthday

- 23% of children are engaged in child labor

- 54% of people live in poverty

-1600 children have been killed since the start of the conflict.
