Hi everyone!! It's always been a life goal of mine to run a half marathon, and to have this dream become a reality is incredible!
I was terrible at running growing up, but I always envied people who could do it with ease. So, as a New Year’s resolution I decided to finally challenge myself and make that dream a reality. I started off with a small achievable goal - complete the couch to 5K app. Starting off, I could barely run through a mile without exhausting myself. My optimism quickly diminished, but with the encouragement and inspiration from friends and family I kept persisting and realized the body is capable of amazing things if you don’t give up!
By the end of January I was able to run a 5K with no problem and in May I ran my first 10K without stopping! I’m always amazed with my progress after each run. I never in a million years thought I would one day love running and be one of those people who ran for fun.
To challenge myself further, I thought it would be amazing to say that I started off barely being able to run a mile, to running a half marathon all within 2019! On top of it all - to make my first half marathon even more meaningful, I decided to run for the foundation Save the Children. They are an extraordinary organization helps children by transforming their lives and the future we share.
I've committed to raising a minimum of $1,000 by October 13th, and hope that with your help I can crush that goal! Any donation amount would be greatly appreciated! Even if you wish to donate $5, that would get me one step closer to my goal.
And remember – don’t ever give up! You are capable of things way beyond what you think you are!
Thank you! <3
