How can someone just choose ONE child? 

That is the question I was asking myself when I found SAVE THE CHILDREN. I was looking to sponsor ONE child in need, but when I logged on to the website I was overwhelmed with how many children go without. How do you choose one over the other? How can we determine if one is more deserving than the other simply from a picture? My husband and I don't have children, so seeing so many in need just broke our hearts. 

I wanted to help and I knew my friends and family would want to help as well. I wanted to use the gifts God has given me to do so. I LOVE running and have had a deep passion for it for years. However, I have never ran a marathon! To be honest---I have just been scared. Finally I said, "NO MORE FEAR!". I wanted to run a marathon AND qualify for the BOSTON MARATHON as well. If you're going to set goals, might as well make them BIG am I right? 

This year the Huntington Beach Surf City Marathon is giving me the opportunity to do both! However, I would love to use this platform for good. Even though the personal accomplishment of possibly getting a Qualifier and Finisher medal is great, it's not what will make a lasting impact. 

Helping MANY hungry children by running a race to raise money is something that will last and WILL help. IT MATTERS...and I ask that you join me on this adventure as we UNITE and give to those who desperately need it.  

Join me in showing these children our love by raising as much money and resources as possible to put these children's needs first.  I have set a lofty Raise Goal to go with the lofty Personal Goal. Why not right? I know with your help it can be done, and because of your generous gifts it will push me even harder to cross that finish line for each of you.
