Hi everyone,
If you’ve received the link to this go fund me, you probably mean a lot to us (Kyle and Zoe) and we seriously need your help!
We have signed up to run the Chicago HOKA Half Marathon on September 25th. And if it wasn’t enough to be star-studded athletes, we’ve also decided to start our adult lives on the right note… as dedicated philanthropists. We’ve decided to fundraise for the humanitarian organization, Save the Children, with a goal of raising $1500. Unfortunately, it doesn’t help that we are currently unemployed and have 2 weeks to meet our goal.
Here’s a little anecdote to show our longstanding commitment to the cause:
Once upon a time, our ambitious 14-year-old selves joined the ETHS cross country team with the lifelong goal of running a (combined) full marathon. We’ve always held the strong conviction that one should work smarter not harder… so each of us running 26.2 miles never really made a lot of sense to us. Anyways, after one long and enduring season of hiding in the tunnel slide at Penny Park and behind the port-a-potties on the track, our high school cross-country days were cut short. As the story goes,
Kyle got picked for one race only to drop out with an “injury” and Zoe was kicked off the team after being caught drinking at a football game (complete tyranny!). Little did we know then that every moment on that track, and the 7 years of rest in between, has been leading up to this very moment!
All jokes aside, it's an amazing organization dedicated to the health, education, and protection of children in crises. We spent a long time trying to best summarize all the wonderful work they do, but we didn’t want to bore our dear old pals, but feel free to check out their website to learn more!
Any contribution you can make would mean a lot to us both. If you wanna be cool, be for the kids!!
