Nearly half a billion kids around the world are currently in need of humanitarian aid, and Save The Children, one of the highest rated organizations on Charity Navigator, has boots on the ground in the places they need it most.
Right now, half a million people in Gaza are facing catastrophic conditions, with UNICEF estimating that 15,000 kids have already died as a direct result of war. In Ukraine, where nearly 2,000 children have become casualties, 5.9 million people - so far - have been forced to flee in Europe’s largest refugee crisis since World War II. In Sudan, nearly six million people have been displaced by armed conflict since last year - over three million of them children - making them the center of the largest child displacement crisis in the world. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo , over seven million people have been displaced by ongoing armed conflicts, around half them under the age of 10.
By supporting Save the Children’s efforts in these places and around the world, we can do something to help protect those most vulnerable to armed conflict: children.
We’re coordinating this fundraiser for the Newkirk Museum of the Paranormal community, banding together with the aim of raising $8,000 for Save the Children, with a stretch goal of $10,000. If we can hit our goals, we’ll host a special live stream just for museum members, featuring a screening of unseen footage from our infamous live UFO summoning experiment.
Let’s do this, gang.
