Hello! My name is Yasha Zink and I'm currently a Freshman at UC Berkeley. I'm proud to begin my sixth year of fundraising for the Save The Children Organization!
The first time I saw a Save The Children advertisement of a mother holding her malnourished child, I was devastated. I didn’t have money to donate, so I asked family and friends to pledge money for every mile I ran in one week. I chose Save The Children because the donations support kids in need all around the world. Being a kid myself motivated me to continue fundraising.
After one year of collecting donation pledges, I began organizing events to raise money more efficiently. A few notable events were The Ice Cream Fun Runs (one in 2018 and the second one in 2022), the yearly summer camps, and the 2020 Virtual Step Challenge which raised $1,400 in three days!
The number of children I have been able to help would never have been possible without my amazing community of supporters. To date, I have
raised over $54,000
through my fundraiser. I am excited to continue helping children in need and to someday meet them!
